Begin Writing APR
- States should be organizing their drafts of indicators in preparation for writing the APR.

Evaluate the APR Development Process
- Assess how well the APR is being implemented with regard to stakeholder involvement in development and improvement activities, etc.

The Basics
- Review OSEP response to the State's previous SPP/APR and the SPP/APR instructions to ensure that APR instructions are being followed, the correct data are being applied in the formulas, and whether the formulas are being correctly calculated.
Part B

Analyze Assessment Data and Prepare Draft for Indicator 3 (Assessment)
- Using the same data source collected for purposes of determining AYP, States should be analyzing their 618 data to determine participation and performance rates. Based on the results of this analysis, States should be preparing a draft to report on Indicator 3.

Analyze Discipline Data and Prepare Draft Indicator 4A (Suspension and Expulsion)
- Indicator 4A (Suspension and Expulsion)
Use 618 data for calculating suspension and expulsion discrepancies by either comparing rates for children with disabilities to rates for nondisabled within a district or by comparing among LEAs for children with disabilities in the State. Based on these analyses, States should be preparing to draft a report for Indicator 4A.

Analyze Dispute Resolution Data and Prepare Draft for Indicators 16 through 19
- States should be using data collected on Table 7, Report of Dispute Resolution Under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, to prepare a draft reporting on Indicators 16 through 19 (i.e., Complaint Timelines, Due Process Timelines, Hearing Requests, and Mediation Agreements.

Analyze Exiting Data and Prepare Draft for Indicators 1 and 2 (Graduation and Dropout Rates)
- States should be using their selected data source and measurement criteria to determine the percent of youth with IEPs graduating and dropping out of high school. Based on the results of these analysis activities, States should be preparing a draft to report on Indicators 1 and 2.

Review APR Attachment Tables 6 and 7
- States should be reviewing Table 6 in preparation for reporting of the participation and performance of students with disabilities on State assessments (Indicator 3) and Table 7 for reporting on dispute resolution Indicators 16-19.

- Prepare Draft for Indicators 10 through 13

- An interactive data reporting web site. Data related to students with disabilities can be viewed and individualized reports can be generated based on criteria chosen by the user. Two major databases are currently available for viewing and report generation: (1) State policies on assessment participation and accommodations for students with disabilities, and (2) Annual Performance Reports.
